God’s “eternal power and divine nature” (Romans 1:20) Seen in Amazing Ways in our World

Destin Sandlin is an American engineer and science enthusiast as well as a very popular YouTube personality (and at one point he was a missile flight test engineer). He loves to explain how things work, rockets, motors, how to blast baseballs at 1,000 MPH, nuclear submarines, super slow motion videos of things blowing apart, etc. He has an amazing wide and roaming array of topics and issues. Fascinating stuff. You can find his channel here – https://www.youtube.com/@smartereveryday. He has over 11 million subscribers (of which I am one) and his videos have had over 1.15 billion views!

He confesses to be a devout Christian. I don’t know much about his faith (so can’t comment more on this), but I do know he regularly will express that He believes the Bible and is a Christian.

I am sharing this info about Destin with you as I would like to highlight this one video as being well worth the watch.

In this video, he interviews some scientists about this amazing “motor” found in bacteria. This motor helps the bacteria move. There are sensors on its outer layer, that tell the inside to move toward something or away, using the “flagella” that protrude out from it. But how do the flagella move? There is this fascinating motor, with what looks like gears, inside, tiny, tiny motors, made out of proteins and other stuff (showing off with my scientific knowledge here). The motor can move clockwise or counterclockwise.

The scientists he interviews are evolutionists and mention evolution, but Destin, toward the end expresses that he believes this exists by faith as he is a Christian the believes in creation.

I watched it and kept thinking … how could this complex motor, with the censors, the ability to transmit and receive the message, and the flagella all develop in such a way that this is a benefit, thus being selected by evolution as it provides an advantage to this bacteria over any other mutations and changes?  That is more than impossible for this to all happen by accident, chance, or mutation.

The only answer, when seeing this, is that an incredible, awesome, divine Creator created this at a microscopic level, this organic motor, with all the various parts and pieces, all working together perfectly, as God designed it to!

Everywhere we look in this creation, the further we can see into the micro-world, and the further we can see in the macro-universe – all scream forth of the awesome Creator God we have with incredible, “eternal power and divine nature”!

Enjoy,

Norm
